The Great Gatsby

The story “The Great Gatsby” was written by the American short story and novelist writer F. (Francis) Scott Fitzgerald. This famous writer was born September 24, 1896, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The story “The Great Gatsby” was this men’s best writing piece. He wrote this novel when he moved to France. The story was narrator by Nick Carraway, a Midwestern who moved into a town in west egg. He is Daisy Buchanan’s cousin. One of the themes of this story is relieving the past. Jay Gatsby comes back to daisy trying to relieve the past. He still loves her but she does not love him back like Gatsby wants too.
In this story reliving the past played a big role because 2 of the main characters had to live it. Not all the time the past coming back will turn into something good or positive at least it was not the case in this story. At first when it all started it looked to the audience like it was going to work out, even Jay Gatsby thought the same. But then reality kicked in when Daisy was not sure about her feelings towards Gatsby and did not tell him the true from the start. He thought she was still in love with him just like he was deeply in love with her.
I can identify myself with this moral because I have had the same situation happen to me before. My oldest daughter dad came back to my life when I was in a relationship and he tried his best like Gatsby tried to get daisy back but it just did not work out. At some point my feelings were also confused because he would made me feel good when we were together but when he would leave I would not miss him, did not have that anxiety of been with that significant other again. At the end I figured the feelings towards him were just friendly like. I kept it real with him at all times so when I told him my true feelings it did not hurt him as much as it hurt Gatsby when he found out the Daisy’s true feelings. This situation led even led the ending of the story to a tragedy.
When Jay Gatsby met Daisy he was poor & she was a wealthy young lady so that’s why things did not work out. They both came from different economic levels. He left to be a prosperous man for her because he truly loved her. Years passed, she did her own thing. Daisy got married to a man with the name of Tom Buchanan.  He is immensely wealthy man, arrogant and a hypocritical bully. Daisy and Tom had baby together.  When Jay came back he was rich, well educated, and famous for the lavish parties he throws every Saturday night. But what people did not know was that these parties had a purpose which was to see if Daisy one day would show up. But unfortunately that never happened. Eventually they met up and ended having a love affair which led Jay Gatsby to his death.
I think sometimes is best to leave the past as the past. Not all the time the famous saying applies “if it comes back to you it meant to be if not just leave it alone”. If Gatsby would have just lived his life and let go of the feeling he had for daisy the ending of this story would have been so different. At times people’s actions can affect its own life so much. And at the end he ended up alone because when he dies she did not even go to his funeral she disappeared. Leave the past in the past, live your present and work towards a better future.
